Fairbridge in Flames

One of the most significant remaining buildings at Fairbridge Farm, the former principal’s residence, has burnt to the ground after a fire early on Monday morning 23 July.

Rural Fire Service brigades in Gamboola, Molong, Borenore, Orange Molong Road and North West were called to the blaze at about 1 am to find the building well alight. Firefighters from Fire and Rescue NSW in Orange, Molong and Bathurst also attended as well as police, Cabonne Council staff and Essential Energy staff.

Canobolas Zone duty officer Cameron Bird said early indications suggest the fire started in or close to the main building and there were no reports of burning off or grass fires in the area. Police and Fire authorities
are investigating.
